Subject: Work is getting better!

Hello Family and friends! Its a new week! And i've completed 1/3rd of my mission! I hit my 8 month mark... Yesterday! Wow! Time is... kind of flying!

This is my week!

Monday 10-10-11
So we had P-day and it was so super... iguess.  I washed my sheets! that is actually way good because i havent washed those since.... (Dont judge me) i got to simi valley! hahaha only about 6 or more weeks dirty... Yeah i know its bad! But we have like no time to do our laundry!

We changed our apartment around.  Its going to help us with studying better. My comp keeps falling asleep so i put our desks right across from one another so he cant fall asleep.  Not that i wake him up if he does... But he thinks i will.  He's on the spot now ;) its good to have a little switch up every now and then.

We went to the church and played with the frisbee a lot! that was fun!

Then we went and bought groceries! I bought a ton so that it would last me... hopefully it will!

Then we went to the Sardoni's house for dinner. I like that family, they are pretty funny.

Then we ran to the Bickmores home and shared a quick thought with them! That was it!

Tuesday 10-11-11
We went to the church to organize our area books.  They were kind of sloppy... So i fixed them up and organized them!

Then we ate lunch! Mac n cheese with hot dog cut up into it... that's the life of a missionary!

Then we went tracting.  And the spanish elders came with us! It was way good! So we split up, one english elder with one spanish elder.  We put the greenies together so that they can practice... They need it.  We didnt find a whole bunch of people.  We found 1 girl who ran up to us and told us she thought we were inspiring, going out every day for 2 years to serve the lord! Her Name is Chelsea! and she took a book of mormon, pamphlets and our number! We also set up an appointment with her.

Then the spanish elders took off but we kept tracting.  We found 3 more potentials!  It was way good!  Some lady was like "We are going through some really rough times right now so this couldnt have come at a better time. So we set up 2 more appointments with people!

We had some pretty funny door approaches. My favorite was "hi sir! We are missionaries from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and...." "I'm very sorry for you" SLAM!!! hahaha that made me laugh so hard! You gotta love the rude things that happen to you out here otherwise you will crumble.  So whenever somebody yells at us, flips us off, cusses us out or slams the door in my face i just start laughing! It really is funny how people have a bad taste for us, yet they know nothing about us.

Then we ate dinner at our home/garage.  It was a frozen pizza from the dollar store! Yum! Because all our dinners keep cancelling :( Oh well.

Then we spoke with a less active lady and then gave her a blessing out on our front lawn.  She needed it.  Shes struggling.

Thats pretty much it! But as for the weather! Its been WAY HOT lately.

Wednesday 10-12-11
We woke up and went to the church and did mormon.org! It was sweet because there is a video of the highland rugby coach on there.  And where it is filmed is the field i used to play ultimate frisbee on in murray! i was like hey, thats where i played ultimate at! it was neat!

then we went out for lunch at a place called the Habit! It was way good! its a burger place and the burgers are delicious! We ate outside and an elder was like "hey elder Crapo, throw your fry on the ground" so i did and as soon as i did a gazillion birds came out of no where and battled for it.  Then elder searcy... being a little... slow, But he's so cool! I love him.  He takes a hand full of french fries and throws them down at the ground but he has the worste timing ever because he threw them at the feet of some lady, and the lady was just like... "thank you" hahaha! It was so funny!

Then we were going to go out and work but my bike tire was broken,  the whole stem broke off :(  so i had to go buy a new innertube! That stunk.  It wasted a bunch of time!

Then we went back to that girls house that we spoke to.  We taught her on her porch basically all the lessons combined with an added focus on the restoration.  we had to do them all combined because she kept asking WAY good questions that led to the next lesson! So we set up another appointment with her! She is awesome!

Then dinner cancelled... again, So i ate another frozen pizza from the dollar store! haha i feel super un healthy...

Then we watched the joseph smith video with a little girl who is investigating the church.  She can be baptized but her parents are kind of holding back.. They both served missions but somehow got offended in the church and dont want their kids in it quite yet.

Then we went to our appointment with Ann! She has a date for the 5 of november to be baptized.  We taught here the plan of salvation and she doesnt have too many questions.  She's just a really sincere girl who knows this is true and wants in! haha!

Thursday 10-13-11
We went to Zone Meeting.  Where the zone leaders just basically told us all the things we should be doing and shouldnt be doing... so that was fun.

Then i guess i really stressed my companion out with all this learning and teaching and memorizing stuff... he had a way bad head ache and wanted me to give him a blessing.  So i did.  But  theres really not a whole bunch i can do make it easier for him... The first few transfers you will be loaded with a bunch of stress trying to figure out how to get the lessons down, how to teach, how to act, all the rules, your area, all the names of people... its a ton of stress... but he doesnt want that.. but oh well... every missionary has to go through that.

the night before was not a good one.  It was way hot and the smoke detector kept chirping he say the batteries were dead... so i didnt get much sleep all night!

But then we had an appointment with Sister Starn.  But she wasnt home so then i texted her and she told me to call, so i called her and she never answered so i left a message and she never responded.... so she's getting kind of flakey.  I might leave her some space....

Then we went to the santa susana area to do some tracting. but no luck :*(

So we came in and Elder Goudy and Elder Searcy took us to their dinner appointment since we didnt have one again!  They took us over to a members home and the wife was from England, KENT even! She said she spent a ton of time in FAVERSHAM!!! Way crazy! She made a roast JUST like home. with the carrots and parsnips and beef and brussel sprouts (i ate 3 you should be proud) and the crispy golden potatoes! MMMMmmm just like home, except not as good because we usually home grow all that stuff. But it was way good! She said she'd invite us back over when she makes yorkshire puddings! :D

We spoke with the elders for a long while and then they left.  My companion looked like crap.  I guess that head ache really got to him...

But hey we have a TON of appointments set up!

Friday 10-14-11
We did planning and did a good companionship inventory.  Told my companion to work on some things that he really needs to work on.  Some things he does that bug me but hey!  I try to just ignore those things and just deal with it... but sometimes it just is too much doing everything and then dealing with a weirdo, so i just gave him some kind advice on things he can do to improve.

We then went to the FARTHEST North East part of our area! WAY FAR AWAY FROM HOME, we tracted for about.... 2.5 hours and found only one interested person, the street we tracted though was called roxbury, which i thought was funny! i got a picture! Then Came back to my bike and both tires were flat.... figures.  So i carried my bike about half way and then some members (they were british too... its crazy none of these british people are in our ward) they saw us and took us home.

Then we went and picked up food at a members house with the spanish elders because we didnt have dinner... again.

then we went to an appointment with our investigator David! he's the man! We invited him to be baptized after we taught the Plan of salvation.  he accepted! but he's going to pray for a date! YES!  He has a lot of good questions and he's finding that the gospel is true!

Then we came back home and i fixed both my tires and went to bed...

Saturday 10-15-11
This was a pretty simple day.  We went to help some other elder do service from 10-4! IT was crazy! We helped a guy build an office in his garage, just put up the sheet rock and insulation in his ceiling... But it took forever!  My comp is funny, anytime we begin hard work, he disappears... oh man... He's a skyver!

Then we ate dinner at a strange members home... with some strange food... but hey at least it wasnt a frozen pizza from the dollar store! :D

then we were trying to contact some people and no one was home! So then we came back and fixed the smoke detector!

Sunday 10-16-11
Was a normal day.  With a lot of bike riding to go out and share a message with members. And that was pretty much it!

Well that was my week! I'm sorry my emails are so long! But i hope you are all doing extremely well! i love and miss you all a ton!

LOVE,

ELDER CRAPO!
