Sam's first email

Dear Family and everyone else reading this letter,

            Life here in the MTC is... Ok, the first day i was here it was REALLY LONG, i didnt know if i could handle it being that way every single day... i thought i would never make it to the field, but everyone being so happy kept telling the dork dot guys that it picks up by sunday... it picked up after thursday for me.  I have never read so much in my life, people like me here because i'm confident and outgoing, they say i see an outer part of the gospel that people dont usually see so that catches attention and i have good things to share. 

              I have 8 elders in my district, and no sisters :( my comp is awesome, like i said in my letter, i didnt know him well at first but now we are best friends, He's from spanish fork UT and his name is Elder Barney.  There is also Searcy and Humphrys i told you about them too in my letter.  Elder Searcy has inspired us to write a book, its called revelations from a bathroom stall, its pretty epic, it contains things such as "I'm sweating more now then i did in gym" or "That was a great lower back work out" or "Constipation never was happiness" That one was made by me... unfortunately i didnt take a.... poop... until saturday, and i had eaten POUNDS upon POUNDS of food. The food is great, i dont know what the myth is about mtc food being bad but i love it. just a little backed up i guess.

          I havent had too many problems, third night here i thought i was getting a cold because i woke up with body aches, a cold sweat and just felt lousy, but then i looked at my arm where i got my tetenus shot and it was SWOLLEN, and i think it was from that so the next day it went down and i didnt have the symptoms anymore...

      I have seen so many people i know here, its crazy! I see logan ALLLLLL the time and my district loves him. Our district is pretty chill but out DL is kind of a downer, we all have fun and he is taking the calling way too seriously and is always telling us to focus and stuff... he used to be fun... but oh well, me and my comp usually study in an empty room.

     I told my comp that i  felt i didnt know the book of mormon well so we started from the begining but after EVERY SINGLE VERSE we stop and evaluate what happened in our journals, we have written so much but i feel i understand EVERYTHING its great!

        I like the gym time i get here, i've only gained 6 pounds since being here... but i'm making sure its muscle, i'm getting nice and YOKED! haha I also play lots of volleyball its so much fun. But i ran an elder through basic work out stuff and now me and him work out all the time.

        If there is anything you can send me in a hurry to the MTC that i like.... NEEEEED it is

          Since my comp lives so close he gets about 3 million letters a day and 2 million packages, but his packages bless us both! haha FOOOOOOOOD

        Ummm something funny that happened the othere day when President of our district was talking, he was stumbling across words and said Now i have my Tang Untoungled, haha i died laughing.

        My comp is having some back pain and i'm kind of worried, we've been going to the doctors office quite a bit, they dont know what is wrong? He tried muscle relaxers but they do nothing but put him to sleep and so the doctor said the best thing to do is go home and get physical therapy done.  But i hope he doesnt leave cuz he's the bomb!

            I cant really think of anything else to say... which is tragic, i have exactly 9:10 mins left on the computer but i dont know what to say? I'll send this email to mom and try and forward it to the rest of the others... but if i dont have your email you wont get the letter, plus sarah will put it on that website anyways so you'll all see it.

           We have some pretty cool teachers, i love em, they both go to BYU.

           Simon needs to send me more cupcakes, i gave some to president and his wife because he shined my districts shoes... which was weird, but i think he wanted us to get the thought of jesus washing if in our minds or something... but i gave him cupcakes.. But anyways Logan says simon is the devil, he's been there forever and still has 4 more weeks to go and was expecting more.  And the first time i even got cupcakes they werent even from simon! Or even Kara! i thought you two were the coolest but i guess not anymore, the cocoa bean girls got my back! Woohoo! my food schedule is pretty dope! i eat breakfast at around 7:30 and lunch at 1 and dinner at 6. so i think its perfect. plus all the missionaries in our building give us all the crap they dont want so whenever we're hungry we eat at night... Well i only have 5 minutes left and i gotta forward this to a lot of you.

 Just know i love you all, i wish you could see the blessings i'm recieving, i wasnt sure i was even going to be able to make it out here because i hate studying and reading, and as of right now i love it, i am saying the right things all the time, my prayers and testimony are SUPER strong, i  feel like god is speaking through me its crazy! i'm so ready to go. I have something to tell you about a TRC my first one, dont fortget to remind me to tell you what happened it was amazing! I love you and i'll write you next wednesday! Dont forget to ask questions in emails so i can answer them. Love
