5/30/11

Hello Family and Friends!

So i didnt get an email from my family this week :( that's not good! But i got goodies from Patriarch and Sandy! :D that was a nice surprise! I'll tell you all about the subject of my letter and about Sandy and Patriarch in my letter BELOW....

So Monday 5-23-11
Monday funday was fun, up until i hurt my shoulder... But i told you guys all about that.  One of the YSA girls sent me a video of it, but it didnt work :( I'd take a picture of my shoulder and send it, but that wouldnt be good cuz i'm a missionary ya know? haha But anyways, right now what it looks like is my left shoulder hangs lower and has a big bump, i dont know if that will ever go away, but its feeling tons better.  I've been getting the hook ups from Dr. Schall and some members (Randy) hooked me up with Horse Liniment! Haha its like Icy Hot except for horses, so its 10x effective.  The Bottle says use only on animals, but sister bennet says all men are animals so it was ok to use it.  The Dr. says it is healing at an extremely fast rate for what happened to it :D  But the first day, i couldnt lift my arm without picking it up with the other arm haha, i looked so stupid, and everyone has seen the video in the ward :( its not good! oh well, they still love me... i think.

Tuesday 5-24-11
My arm felt a little better...

We went to some ladies house to do some service.  Her weeds came up to my thigh they were so tall and she had probably a couple acres of land on a hill to mow down :( it was not fun.  But we had some heavy duty lawn mowers that made it a little better, besides the fact that i got sprayed in the face by lawn mowers all day :( i was covered in weeds.

Then we went to brother moffats and helped him move his trailer again to get some gravel out of the back of it.  It then turned into a pull-up/push-up/sit-up/foot race competition! I was so bummed because my arm hurt so bad i couldnt do any of the stuff.  Besides foot race and that was a joke, i smoked em all.... It was pretty sweet.

And this was the night that i got horse liniment.  Randy came out with a glove on, a plastic one, and he was like, let me help you.  I was like "What the?"  haha so he rubbed it into my shoulder.  That stuff is strong! Makes it feel pretty good though.  They gave me the rest of their stuff and they went out and got another bottle.

Wednesday 5-25-11
We had a whole bunch of appointments set up but they cancelled so we went and ran errands for a little bit.  Did a little less active work until about... 4.

Then we met up with sister Layne.  She had dinner reservations set up for the country club. and we played ping pong and stuff.  And the country club was pretty good.  I always feel bad going there :( Its too fancy for missionaries and its too expensive, i hate using peoples money.

Then we stopped by a ladies house that we tracted into,  we met with her and her husband.  They were WAY nice, always offering everything to us.  The lady seemed pretty interested but the husband says he's aithiest, he works for nasa and it seems that he's thought too much about the topic of religion, but they are way cool and we'll go back and see them.

Thursday 5-26-11
We had district meeting in Bakersfield.  It was pretty good.  We ate at Panda Express... that grease still makes me sick :(

Then we went to Brother Moffats and helped him with his trailer again.  He's landscaping his backyard so he keeps bringing trailer full of stuff to put in his back yard, and we help him tip it and spread it.

Then we went to Chesters ranch and worked a little out there.  We went to his house after and ate a huge meal of ribs, chicken, past salad, beans and garden salad.  It was way good.

Friday 5-27-11
We did weekly planning quickly because we had a lot of things to do.

Went to brother Salyers' house and helped him with some yard work.

Then we ate at brother Moats' house which is always GOOOD.

Then we stopped by the Bethkes because they were having a coniption about the baptismal programs for the next day that hadnt been printed yet. So we figured all that out with them.

Saturday 5-28-11
Now this was our busiest day.  We had 3 baptisms!  We got to the church early and started filling the font, then we went over to the Leishmans like usual for breakfast.   Then we went back to the church and got ready for Cypress' baptism!  It went really well and she is such a cool girl.

Then we left and got the mail and ate some Toxic Belch. We also got a call from Lyle and Sandy, telling me they were on their way with some stuff for me!  They came by and gave me my stuff and i took a picture with them! :D I really liked the things in there, the shoes feel a bit loose, but i'll grow into them :D and i think i have enough gum to last me... forever.  Then went back to the church and filled the font up again, cuz it leaks, and we had the baptism for the salyer kids.  They are so cool too! They really had a good time.

Then after that we went to the Johnsons for dinner, we always have a way good time there. So all in all, we spent most of our day at the church.

Sunday 5-29-11
K, now this is the reason for my "Subject" The whole "We must get off the mountain" I'm pretty sure only Scott and Stuart can guess what that's from but its from The Lord of the Rings and when they are traveling in the first movie, they decide to travel over the mountains, and it snows a ton and Boromir yells "We Must Get Off The Mountain!" and its funny because on Sunday it was SNOWING!!! like CRAZY. and me and Elder Pulham were heading into church and some guy out in the parking lot yelled "We must get off the mountain!" and it sounded EXACTLY like boromir hahaha it was so funny.

Then there was the confirmation of all three baptisms that happened the day before.  Then we ate dinner with the Bennets.  And it was way good, BBQ'd everything! Corn, steak, burgers.  We have had the best schedule for food this week because BBQ is elder Pulhams favorite, so everyone wants to feed him his favorite stuff before he goes and we definitely have had a huge helping of it!

Today i'm in a funky mood :( Elder Pulham leaves, he's the only companion i know! He's my pops!  Its going to be way weird when he leaves.  Which is Tomorrow! but we got calls from the Mission President and i found out that i will be staying in Tehachapi and my new companions name, my follow up trainer, my mother, his name is Elder Summers.  He came out at the same time as Elder Haynie,  and i've met him and he seems way cool.  So i'm way stoked.  We are going to be SO busy, we have SO many stinkin refferals and new investigators its NUTS! I bet i could make it a goal to have 5 baptisms this transfer, no joke, there are so many people around here who are interested in the gospel! its awesome, i cant wait to get started.  But its also going to be weird not to have my pops here :( He keeps telling me that he has it harder than me because no one gets to choose his next companion, he has to choose his next companion hahaha! We all know its gonna be Shelby ;)  But anyways, other than all this sweet shtuff there is nothing going on... its just gonna be crazy. I drive down to Bakersfield with Elder Snarr to get our new companions, we dont get to go to Ventura to see Elder Pulham off :( and Elder Haynie is leaving me to go to Ventura to be a Zone Leader out there :( I'm not happy! I Dont want to get to know new people, i want to stay in my cumfy environment! haha i just got situated.  But i think it will be a way cool experience to take a little more responsibility!

Anyways, i love you all. I hope you are all doing well, and making good choices and doing well in school, or work, or whatever you're doing... I will see you in approximately 20 months.  Time flies huh!?! I burn a tie in like... 2 months! YIKES!!!! Anyways, love ya'll! See you later.

Love,

Elder Crapo

p.s. dad i'll need a June Email or Letter soon! So get typin' or writin'! :D

Subject: OUCH! My Shoulder!
From: samuel.crapo@myldsmail.net

Hello Family And Friends,

Sounds like from the emails i'm recieving, everything back home sounds the same.  One question for mum.  When is Lyle and Sandy coming? I'd like a little heads up.

Anyways, i bet you're wondering why my title says "Ouch! My Shoulder" So today at the church, we were playing a few sports.  And then me and Elder Haynie got into a little gymnastics.  And you remember that video when i learned how to run up a wall and do a backflip? Well i was going to do that, and elder haynie was going to spot me because i told him it had been a while since i had done it.  Well i didnt quite make it all the way over and landed on my shoulder... We went to Dr. Schall to do a little diagnostic on it, and he said that nothing broke, nothings dislocated, but i probably tore a whole bunch of tendons in my shoulder.  So it KILLS.  The reason i went to dr. schalls is because it hurt really bad... and then i went in the bathroom and looked at it in the mirror, and i have a lump in my shoulder, almost looks like my left arm will be longer then my right arm because of how the tendons tore.  But no need to worry, Dr. Schall is takin good care of me and i'm sitting here writing this email with a huge bag of ice on it.  And i also probably wont be trying that anytime soon... at least not until i can go to a place with lots of padding so this doesnt happen again.

But now for my week!

Monday 5-16-11
We didnt have monday funday.  We stayed in our Pros, and did all our shopping and what not,  we had to cut our P-day short because we were planning on going to the temple on saturday.  We cleaned up the apartment a lot because we were going to have president interviews and apartment inspections and stuff.  Then we went over and taught Cypress the Word of Wisdom and Tithing.  It was a lot of fun.  I broke her out of her shell a little bit so now me and her are good friends.  Too bad she is moving to Bakersfield.

Tuesday 5-17-11
We went on exchanges, Elder Haynie was with me and Elder Pulham was with Elder Snarr.  It was pretty cool because i had to do all the planning and all the travelling.  So it was way cool to be able to drive around Stallion Springs and Bear Valley by memory.  I think i will be okay directions wise when elder pulham leaves.

We went to sister Alvis' house,  Before, we called and she said she was feeling really sick, and she almost wanted to reschedule, but she said, nah you better come over.  So we went over and studied out of the scriptures and had a really good lesson.  And she asked for a blessing, and she started crying because she said she had never felt the spirit so strong.  So it went really well.  She's an awesome lady.

For lunch we went back into town and ate some Jay Dawgs, (I think the sauce is going bad? Can the Sauce go bad?) Anyways i told Brother Moffat that i was bringing him one to try.  He said he hated it.  He said it was like eating a hot dog with Syrup on it.  I told him to grow up.

Then we went to Brother and Sister Thomas' house.  They are such a cool couple.  He used to do magic, i think i mentioned that in previous emails, but elder haynie got a little taste of it this time.  He's got some good tricks up his sleave for being so old.  But he was being way funny.  He was talking about his Colonoscopy, and how he had to drink this stuff that gave him uncontrollable gas.   haha he said he was farting in front of pretty nurses or "Blowing the Sheets off" is what he said.  and he kept apologizing to them, saying he couldnt help it. It was so funny.

Then we went to the Kills for Dessert.  and their cat was in love with me or something, and you know that video called "The kitty machine gun"? Well i did that with their cat, they were dying laughing.  Except the dang cat wouldnt meow when i did it... so it wasnt as cool.  i was afraid it was going to claw my eyes out, but it didnt care.

Wednesday 5-18-11
We had presidents interviews early in the morning, and he brought his wife to inspect our apartment while he did interviews.  I felt like i was on an episode of CSI at the Crime Scene where someone had died.  She was looking EVERYWHERE. asking us tons of questions that made you feel guilty even though you had nothing to hide.  But i guess we did really well... President says he has no idea who my companion is going to be? and i told that to the other missionaries and they say he only says that when you train... i wouldnt mind training, i think it would be a sick expereince but i dont know if i know enough to train? haha But my poor comp leaves in a week, so i'll have a new companion soon.

We stopped by Brother and Sister Bennett's and Sister bennett was asking us if we were ready for the rapture on saturday... Apparently christ was supposed to come... but i guess not? haha it was way funny though.  Her husband was taking it all serious just because she was so into it.

Then we went to brother and sister Warings for dinner (ward mission leader for the golden hills ward) that was pretty good.  a Recent Convert was there so we were able to teach a cool leason.

Then we went to the church for the Salyers kids Baptismal interviews! They passed and are good to go.  They get baptized on the 28th!

 Thursday 5-19-11
We had district meeting.  And it was way cool because elder pulham invited a whole bunch of members who converted to the church, and we had them play investigators and we did a whole bunch of role playing with them.  It went way good.  I learned tons.  I knew them all too so some of them i couldnt take serious!

Then we went on exchanges again, this time i was with elder Lawson from Bakersfield.  It was pretty good.  We did some service at the Kannards, and we didnt have a dinner planned so they fed us.  And they always feed us well and sent us off with a gallon bag full of cookies.  They are so awesome.

Then we went to Randy's house (Brother Bennett) and a couple days before we told Randy that we were going to have another missionary with me and to do the same thing he did to me, to him.  So to basically open the door with his gun and say "I thought i told you mormons to never come back here" and so when we went he did that and elder Lawson was just like "uhh.... i dont think we were the ones you told not to come back" haha! He was so scared.  Randy started laughing and elder Lawson was like, "I'm gonna kill you elder crapo" hahaha! Sister Bennet was inside just going "I'm so sorry"! haha!

Then we went to Heavelee's and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Tea bag.  And they all really liked that except we didnt know what else to teach because she knew all the answers so we were only there for like... 15 minutes...

Then we went to the Kings home and had a way awesome discussion with them.  Elder Lawson did a great job at connecting with them an he also did a great job of explaining and answering their questions.

Friday 5-20-11
We woke up pretty early to go drop off the other missionary and pick up my comp.

Then we headed back  and did our weekly planning.

Then we went to the Jepsons for dinner, and after dinner they gave us some eggs from their chickens. Farm fresh eggs are very tasty!

Then we stopped off at a pinewood derby to see if their were any investigators there.

Then we went to visit cypress and talked about her baptism and who she wants to speak and stuff.  She is also being baptized on the 28th! Woo Hoo!

Then we went to the Laynes because Brooke Steenblick and her family were there.  This is the girl that i went to school with.  It was way weird seeing familiar faces while on my mission but it was also way cool to see her.

Then as we were leaving, a big old racoon jumped out of their garage and into their bushes.  So elder pulham got his rope and and we went looking for it... but it got away.  It would have been so funny to see elder pulham rope a racoon!

Saturday 5-21-11
We woke up way early to go to the temple.  The LA Temple is way sick! and we drove down with the bethke's.  We went down because elder pulham had baptized someone in another area and he was going through the temple.  It was way cool to see him go through because this is one hard looking guy, handle bar mustache, sleave tattoos.  He rode with the Hells Angels Motorcycle Gang for a really long time.  It was so cool.

Then on our way back we stopped at inn-n-out burger, and that was pretty tasty!

Then we didnt get back until 5 and by the time we were all ready to head out, we were going to the bethke's house for corralation.  They got a full day with us! They are such an awesome family.  I'm definitely coming back someday to visit them.

Sunday 5-22-11
We had our usual 8 hours of church.

Ate some farm fresh omlettes when we got home.

And then had dinner with the Jacobson family.  At first i didnt think they liked me... but i really got to know them this time and they are such a cool family!  They always call me crap-o on accident so  i told them they were the only family that i would let do that.  But we had a pretty darn good time there.

Other than all that! That's all i can think of.  This letter is a little shorter because my arm is killing me, and i'm trying to hold ice on it.  Its not working out very well.  Anyways i hope you guys are all safe.  Scott... I'm gonna have to join the army so i can save your butt out there.  you know that there is supposed to be a 3rd world war before the second coming right? and you know that the second coming is coming soon right? Well you will get drafted, but if i have to join to watch yo back.... i'll do it.  Anyways i've had a good week, i'm doing fine, eating well, sleeping well, and i cant wait to see what changes are going to be made to this area.

Love you all very much!

Hello Family And Friends,

So this was an interesting week.  Last week i told you guys i was going to send some pictures like us roping llamas and stuff, BUT, unfortunately my card for my camera became CORRUPTED!!! UGH!!!  It wanted me to delete all the pictures on it! Thats over 800 Missionary pictures!!!! :(   But Elder Haynie has a guy in his ward that says that he could take a look at it.  So, i gave it to him (Brother Cable) and he has held onto it since.  Well, i talked to him on sunday and he said that he can only save about 80 - 90% of the pictures, which is WAY better than deleting them all.  But he said he might know some people who can save them all, but you'd have to buy an attachment that cost big BUCK$.  So i dont know about that, i just might have to go withe the 80-90% :( So that's why there were no pictures last week.  I'll try and see if i cant get my card back and send some, hopefully the llama ones will still be there :/

So here's my weeeeeeeeeeeek.

Monday 5-9-11
Was P-Day.  But we got dressed in our Pros. Clothes and went to Sister De Silvas work place.  She wanted us to meet  some guys at her work.  she says the guys say there is no way that 19 year old boys could behave so well.  They say all the 19 year olds they know are out doing bad things, and drinking and what not.  So we went and met them and they were pretty cool.  So then we went to monday funday and sister De Silvas daughter was there and asked if one of the guys was making fun of us and cracking jokes, and i said no, they were both way quiet.  And she was shocked because i guess that guy is never quiet, so i think we made an impression.

So this was the day i found out my camera was broken so i was all depressed when i got home, but i checked the mail, and i was so shocked to see i had a letter from Sister Jensen.  Sister Jensen was this way cool sister i met in the MTC, we got to talking while i was there because i was sitting in an office 90% of the time i was there and she was in the office frequently too.  I thought about her while i was out here and i was wondering how she was doing.  We didnt exchange addresses or even names.  but i did remember seeing "Sister jensen" on her tag and that she said she was supposed to be going to brazil on her mission but got changed to the Orlando FL mission.  So, i looked up the mission address to the Florida Orlando mission and i sent her a letter.  Not knowing if it would get to the right "Sister Jensen" or if that was even the right Address.  But it got to her and she wrote me back after like 2 or 3 weeks.  I was so stoked the hear from her! It changed my day.

So after all that we came home and did laundry and wrote letters. Went shopping.  Made dinner. and then me and my Comp went to an investigator (Cyprus) and taught her the gospel of jesus christ, where you take the bowl of water and put pepper in it, then you stick your finger in the water and you get pepper all over you, (the water represents the world, your finger represents you, the pepper represents sin) any ways when you get baptized you clean yours sins away, and then you get the holy ghost (dish soap all over your finger) and when you go back into the bowl, the pepper goes to the edges.  Its sweet. and she was so excited about it all.  it was awesome!

After that we went to Laura Strong's house and it was empty, but we caught her outside and found her new apartment, which is right down the street from ours, and her heater wasnt working so me and Elder Pulham fixed it.  She was so happy.

And after that we dropped by Brother Cables house, where the other missionaries were and left my card there to see if he could fix it.

Tuesday 5-10-11
We had Zone Conference! Seven Hours of non stop, mind blowing... fun.  But it went by quick, it wasnt bad at all.

Sucky thing was, i had to go to Bakersfield for an exchange, and i was in the Spanish Speaking area! So the whole day and next day i was there, i listened to a missionary teach in spanish and i just sat there.  they looked at me like i was some Gringo.  Everytime they looked at me and said something, i would just say "Poquito espanol" haha that put em in their place! but it was worthless being there, the only thing i learned was how greatful i am i dont have to speak mexican, i mean spanish. the Elder i was with though was way cool, His name is Elder Bills.  I guess he played Football for BYU back home.  he's way nice, which is odd for a football player, he's not cocky or anything so it was awesome to hang out with him for a bit.

Wednesday 5-11-11
Since i was still in the Spanish Mission area in Bakersfield and they have an extra HOUR of study for language, the morning seemed to DRAG! We did a lot of tracting, and went and contacted some other people, again, all i did was "Poquito espanol" and that was IT! Oh, and i ate some WAY good mexican food.

Then we went back to Tehachapi, and i have never been so happy to be surrounded by hicks in my life, haha i speak their language!  But we started to go see some Less Actives.  Ate dinner with the Lewis Family (Who are awesome) I'm gonna come back and see them after the mission.

Then on our way in we went to the other Elders Apartments and i guess they were at an apointment and got a whole bunch of old ties from a man who passed away a while ago.  And elder Haynie didnt like them much because they were skinnier, but i like skinny ties, i'm not a fan of the Fat ones.  I dont like SKINNY ties but i like them... skinnyish i dont know how to put it? i think at Macy's they called them Scholar ties, or preppy ties? so they dont get too fat at the end, they stay straight pretty much all the way down.  But they are like 2 inches thick? heck i'm done explaining this haha! its too confusing, but anyways if you wanna get me ties, those are the kind i like.

Thursday 5-12-11
We woke up at 6 and went to the Church to play ball, but when we got there, the seminary kids were in their playing ping pong, but we met with a member kid who said if we wanted his refferals then we would invite him to play ball in the mornings too, and he would bring his friends to play ball.  We have 2 refferals now just from that.

After that we went to sister Alvis' house.  We had a good discussion and learned more about her.  Her life story is kind of scary.

Then we went to see Wayne, who is trying to quit smoking, and he thinks its impossible and he has little faith.  but in my studies a couple weeks ago i found some SICK scriptures  that reminded me of him.  Thing is, they were really bold and strong, they would set most people off.  but i thought that his relation with the missionaries is strong enough to take a little damage.  So we went in there, read the scriptures and laid it on the line.  it was crazy, and usually he's all talkative and it shut him up, got him thinking.  I hope it helps him. he would be such a STRONG member.

Then we visited Tyler and Travis, Recent Converts. and we just set up an appointment to start teaching the recent convert lessons.  we also stopped by the park to watch their little brother tanner's tee ball game. it was pretty sweet.

We ate dinner at Sister Moores and Grandma's house.  It was fun, they had some relatives there and it was just a big rowdy night.  it was way fun though, they made us a cake that said "Good Luck Elders" on it.

Then we stopped by the Holloways and chatted with them.

Friday 5-13-11
In the morning we went to Help Ben Jacobson with his Eagle Project, we didnt get to stay long because we had an appointment after but his project was pretty cool.  He was in the Tehachapi Dog Park, and went around a big tree, and built a bencht that wrapped around the whole tree.  It looked pretty good.

then we went to bear valley to borrow some weed wackers, and we went to brother salyers house (his kids have a baptisimal date with us) and we helped him get his weeds down.  It was pretty good. Minus the bad allergies.

then we went and showered and went to the church to update the area books and plan a little.

then we went and taught Cyprus again and she wasnt feeling good but we taught the Chastity and the Commandments. She is so cool, she is flying through the lessons.

Then our dinner cancelled so we just ate ate home, and went to John and Michelle Kings and just basically talked all night.  It was good.

Saturday 5-14-11
We ate breakfast at the Leishmans like usual.

we went and helped Chester at his ranch.  he's way awesome, he's not really an investigator but i can totally see him joining, he drinks and stuff, but he's married with a kid and another on the way.  the ranch he works on is kind of dumpy, but thats why we were over there and we cleaned it up a bunch and ran a whole bunch of stuff to the dump.  It was funny because on our way there we saw a Coyote, and he loves killin stuff. haha his wife was like, dont tell him you saw a coyote otherwise he'll go crazy, and as soon as she said that we heard his big deisel truck rev up and floor it our way (he must have just got our message at that point) and he pulled up and was like, "I got the gun lets go kill this thing!" hahaha

After the dump, Chester took us to a place called Taco Sammich.  it was a lot like Betos.

then we went to sister Finely's and helped her work on another ladies yard, and my allergies were way bad! I was sneezing so bad i got a bad bloody nose.  Oh it was bad, my eyes almost swelled shut.  The zyrtec wasnt helping, haha its expired.

then even though i looked like i had been crying because of my allergies, we went to see Lorretta, and just got her watching the videos on Mormon.org. You guys should check it out, they have some SICK videos.  I think it would be SICK to work for the church, making videos. I'd love it. i might look into it when i get home.

then we went to the Bethke's for Dinner as usual.  And they had a HUGE fire going in their backyard this time because me and elder pulham went and got wood for them, i'll send pictures... maybe.

Sunday 5-15-11
We went to our 8 hours of church as usual.  Last week we were arguing with a guy about baptism by water.  he doesnt believe you have to be baptized in water, he says the bible doesnt say that anywhere, he's one of those guys who thinks he's saved just from believing in christ, and so we had a huge long discussion with him last week that gave me the biggest dang head ache cuz he wasnt taking anything.  everything we said went way over his head.  It was a pointless battle.  And he was there at church this week, and guess what the lesson was.... BAPTISM... Headache X2 this sunday... it was bad. and i ran out of excedrin too so i had to just take it haha.

We taught the Salyers the word of wisdom and tithing.  It was way good. they loved it.  And we also are getting them ready for their baptisimal interview which is this week.

Then we went to the Johnsons for dinner.  We had a blast there.  Their family is so cool.  Like all the kids are different, you would have never guessed they are all blood related.  And their parents have a cool way of teaching them.  the dad is quiet but can be funny, and the mom is strict, and makes sure they learn.  She'll also tell them the truth straight up, like "wow, what you just said was stupid" it sounds so bad, but the kids have grown so much because of it.  they are the kind of kids who dont care what other people think and they just do better next time, if that was me when i was a little kid and my mom had said, "wow you really suck at baseball"  i would have been in tears.  but she also compliments them on things they do well and she takes advantage of those things.  She'll sign em up for the things they are good at. its just way different. its awesome.

Then after that i sat at home and updated area books while Elder Pulham took numbers... fun fun.

Well that's pretty much it i think? Its another long letter! i know mum likes these.  I'm loving it out here, i hope you guys are liking these letters... Love you all.

5/9/11

Hey Family And Friends.

Cant believe how time is flying I've almost completed 1/8 of my
mission already! I didnt do as well at writing stuff down this week
because i was calling home but i'll try my best to let you know what
happened.

Monday 5-2-11
It was P-Day and we ate at Quiznoz. Or Kriznoz if you're elder Snarr.
We did laundry and figured out a good way to make our whites really
white.

Then we went and visited Cyprus, who is our new investigator. She is
a girl that has been going to church since she was a little girl and
she now wants to be baptized! So lucky us!

Then we stopped by Randy's house and he gave me some advice on how to
take Protien and Creatine... So we'll see how that goes. I havent
taken any of either because i eat so much here anyways i dont think i
need any supplements.

Tuesday 5-3-11
We woke up and had a lot of service planned for the day. Except our
first appointment was a LA lady, and when we called she cancelled so
it basically turned into a full service day. We went to another LA
ladies house and she made us tons of food. Just for us, because we
fixed up her yard. Made it look way nice. I felt so fat though, i
couldnt stop eating, i ate 6 hotdogs! And i didnt even have my JAY
DAWG SAUCE!

Then we went to Brother Moynya's house again and helped him with some
service. Cutting down trees and what not.

Then we went and got the other two Elders and took them to Brother
Moat's house where we lassoed llamas! Because he bought 6 females and
now has 12. So... obviously one of them is a boy. So we roped them
and figured out which ones were the boys. My Companion whipped out a
knife and started castrating one, and it started FREAKING out! but the
knife wasnt sharp enough so we just spray painted its belly to know
that it is a boy and we sent it on its way. We tagged all the boys.

We at dinner at the Moat's house which was good, they always have
AMAZING food. And again, there were more hot dogs, and i forgot my
Jay Dawg Sauce again. I think i'm just going to leave it in the car.

Wednesday 5-4-11
We went to a guys house in the other elders ward. His name is Dusty.
He's a black guy that has parkensons disease. He is always shakey and
stuff. But he's a way funny guy. We did some service for him and he
fed us lunch. He also gave us a gas grill that sits on our porch now
:D

I went to the Chiropractor as usual, and this week was awesome, he
popped my neck in a million different places!

Then we went to Wayne and Nita's house, and their back yard is still
like a swamp so we started tilling all the ground to make it look not
so terrible. I thought i wasnt going to have a chance to till this
year but i did! And it was fun. I got a little sun burnt on the arms
and neck. So wearing a dress shirt hurts a little bit.

We then went home and changed, talked to Lorretta for a bit. She's
had a rough week dealing with a whole bunch of kids and her knew job
is a little hectic being a lunch lady.

Then we stopped by the Kills house. We talked to them for a little
bit because they are all non members, but the missionaries converted
their son and he left for a mission right before i got here. And
these people love their son so much and miss him tons and dont want
anything to do with the church but think he is so awesome for taking
two years of his life to go on a mission. And he writes home and says
"tell the missionaries there to teach you about..." and we'll teach
them lessons that way because they will listen to their son. But i
also hooked them up on the computer because he Skyped home for mothers
day and i set it up on their computer because they are computer
illiterate.

Thursday 5-5-11
Thursday was good, we went to distric meeting as usual. I led the
role play and it was on Comp. unity and i think i did a way good job.
The role play was fun and everyone had a good time because usually
role playing is stupid but i made it fun.

Then i went on exchanges with elder Murray to Bakersfield. It was so
hot! it was about 98 Degrees all day! And we went tracting for like...
3 or 4 hours! But tracting was way good. I was a teaching machine. I
found 3 potentials for them so they want to learn more! Woo hoo.

We also talked to some interesting people down there. Like these one
guys, two mexican guys out in their front yard Sippin beer and smoking
cigs. and i stopped to talk to them. They were way chill though.
They liked us a lot. They were so funny, they were like "arent you
the guys that have like seven wives? Seven wives would be a lot of
work, if ya know what i mean" and then he did some Pelvic Thrusts haha
i was laughing SO HARD. I told him he had an awesome truck (one of
those old school ones) he tried to sell it to me for 7K but i said i
will in two years haha.

We also got decieved by two girls. One came to the door and said her
parents werent home and she spoke funny, but she was way pretty and
looked about our age, so i was like "Elder Murray does that girl have
like a speaking problem?" and he was like "No, she's only 11 years
old".... I dragged my jaw home haha. and then the same thing happened.
We stopped at some investigators house and they were such an awesome
family, i got to meet them all, and then again, they had a way cute
daughter, and she looked our age, and when we left i was like "Let me
guess, she's 13?" and elder murray was like "Yep" i was so shocked
haha!

But i taught a ton of lessons and connected well with tons of people
so i think i'll be ok when Pulham leaves. But man was it hot! i still
cant believe how stupidly hot it was haha.

Friday 5-6-11
I came home from Bakersfield, Elder Jarvies had made me Mickey Mouse
pancakes and eggs though for breakfast. That was pretty awesome. WE
came home and changed then went and ate at Kriznoz again.

We went to the church and did some weekly planning. And then went to
Albertsons and bought some dinner because we didnt have a dinner sign
up. So we got a whole bunch of polish dogs to cook up som Jay Dawgs.
And some lady in line behind us bought all our groceries for us! It
was sweet!

so we went home and cooked the dogs on our new gas gril from Dusty.

We then went to see Cyprus again, and we taught the Plan of Salvation.
And it was good, we've been working on comp unity and we did really
well this time. Spoke about 50/50 in our lesson.

We went up stairs (Because we teach Cyprus at the petersons and the
Holloways live upstairs) and we went and visited the Holloways. The
Husband had just had his wisdome teeth out. And they said that their
little boy always says "Crapo" haha!

And then we went and got Enamel Strengthening tooth paste because my
tooth on the other side chipped, they're getting brittle or something?
So i had to do something about it.

Saturday 5-7-11
I dont really remember what happened this day? I didnt write anything
in my journal. But i do know that we did missionary work, and we also
had a sweet BBQ at our apartment because a member gave us food for us
to cook. STEAK! Marinated in Jay Dawg Sauce! It was pretty tasty! And
we finished all 16 of the Polish dogs we bought! SICK!

Sunday 5-8-11
Another long sunday. Only because we dont get to eat until dinner.
And for dinner we ate Pasta roni. and the last Jay Dawg. So it wasnt
so Splendid. But it was cool because i got to call my family! Yay! It
was too soon though haha. its only been 3 months. You guys dont miss
me yet ;) just kidding

Anyways, dad's doing good on writing home. I've gotten a letter for
april and may so looks like i'll be writing the rest of the month
haha! and i'm working on not saying HAHA so much but its habit, plus
you guys can know when i'm laughing...? I dont know why it bugs
you!?!? CANT I SHOW JOY IN MY LETTERS? just kidding. Anyways thanks
for all your support. The church is true. Love you all.

Love
Elder CRAPO!!!!!

There was a jail, and you would give a dollar to a "Sheriff" And have him put anyone you want in jail. And then it was a dollar to bail them out.  There was a lot of money made off of that.
