Subject: This week went by fast!

Hey family! The weeks have now picked up and are going Mach 10! its so crazy! I love the emails! Keep em coming! Its crazy to hear how drastically things are changing! I cant wait to see it all.  But here's my week!

Monday 10-17-11
We did our laundry and went to the church where we played sports, did emails and played more sports.

Then for lunch we went to in'n'out.  Some elders got some gift cards and took us out.  They live in a rich ward so they always get way good gift cards and take the whole district out to luch with them.  Its so awesome.

Then we did our shopping as usual.

We went to the Anderson's home and Xanne gave us haircuts!  I hate getting a hair cut! It reminds me that i will be a baldy someday....

Then we had an appointment with a follow up on a potential! But she wasnt home! She was so sincere when we spoke to her! but she has been avoiding us :( So we decided she's not quite ready yet... maybe some day.

Then we went and spoke with brother Penrod because he knew the potentials we were going to go see.  And asked him to get more involved...

Then we went to dinner with the Guidos.  I love that family.  They are so much fun! I would like help them make the dinner and everything is noisy and crazy but so much fun.  Everyone is happy, everyone is telling jokes and laughing.  Its a very strong family environment, even though you cant think to yourself because its so loud.

My comp had a flat tire earlier so we were walking everywhere... Of course he doesnt know how to fix that either so i had to do it! But i couldnt get the dang tire off, especially since the only tools i have to do it with are butter knives hahaha! i finally got it off but the inner tube was destroyed, he had to buy another one.  But the bikes made me angry, because mine was giving me problems too.  The gears werent switching right.  So i gave up and went to bed.

Tuesday 10-18-11
Oh i forgot to mention... i've been out 8 months now!?!?! Holy smokes! 2 1/2 more transfers and i've been out a year! I've completed 1/3rd of my mission! Its so crazy.

I'm getting really into "A marvellous work and a wonder" that book proves how right our religion is... puts it into form that just makes anyone who believes anything else look stupid haha!  Its so good! I love it.

So we needed new parts for our bikes so i asked Elder Goudy and Elder Searcy to take us to the bike shop!  They took us and we got everything fixed and good to go.  Then we went to McDonalds for lunch.  We also went out and got goo for my companions tires... Poor me, my bike doesnt take goo, its imposible because the stem is all funky, cant even get it in their, you have to buy them special... :( and they are super expensive, so i just put my patching skills to the test!

I sent some memory cards home.  Sounds like they got there safe! Thats good! I would be very upset if they got lost because they have video journals.  i do one every single night!

Then we went and contacted a family REALLY Far away from our home.  And we got their number and set up an appointment! I'm stoked to visit them!

Then we tracted a street called Scofield, i chose that special because of all the good times we have had at scofield!

then we ate dinner with an older couple, which was... fun.

then we contacted a potential, and his wife came to the door and gave us the book of mormon back :( She was super nice though and we stood at the door talking to her for 5 minutes but she said they have their own church... :(

We saw brother Penrod walking on the street so we chased him down and spoke to him for a good while, and went to his house to chat.  He's so stinkin smart!

Then we walked home. It was dark and SUPER foggy! Kind of scary... haha but i laugh in the face of scary things ;)

Oh and if you ever want to know what Elder Goudy is like, think of Spongebob, HE IS EXACTLY LIKE HIM, just is mannerisms and his personality, kind of his voice too... he's just a little more... on the PG-13 side haha!

Wednesday 10-19-11
We had district meeting which was good. But after was even better because Goudy and Searcy had gift cards to Reds BBQ. Best BBQ around and they had $100 worth of gift cards.  So they went and bought the whole district lunch! It was the best lunch ever! So much stinkin food! AH! I loved it!

Then we went and had an appointment with Ann and she is just scootin along! She's doing way good.  The baptism isnt this saturday but its the next.

Then we had a lesson with another Girl.  Chelsea.  She's awesome. She gets distracted because she thinks of random things and rambles on about them.. Like when we asked her to pray mid way throught the prayer she was like "Oh my gosh, this is like a scene from 7th heaven" hahaha! I thought that was so funny!

Then we had dinner with the Pinkstons! They are way awesome! They have 3 kids going into the MTC on the SAME DAY!!! WAY CRAZY!!!  The boy is going to Argentina and the two girls are going to Singapore and Russia! Its nuts! They are awesome and they took us to some Taco place :)

Then Goudy and Searcy Picked us up and took us home.

Thursday 10-20-11
I had a pretty bad head ache... they are starting to come back.. i need Dr. Schall in Tehachapi! He made the head aches go away with his Chiropractic skills haha.

Anyways we helped Erringer elders do a service project, we went and leveled and stacked a wall.  It looked so dang good! But it took a while.

Then we went to go follow up on a potential but the husband came out and shooed us away :(  So we had to drop 3 way good potentials this week :(

Then we did more studies! because we have to do the Extra hour for the greenie.  Like Elder Graff said about his greenie "He's as green as a granny smith apple" hahahaha!

Then the Zone Leaders picked us up and we went and tracted with them for a little bit, but there was not luck :(

Then we ate dinner at the Bacera's house, they are Philipino! And they made us some way good Philipino food, which gave me bad heartburn haha!

Then brother metcalf (Santa susana ward mission leader) took us out and we went on splits.  Some less active lady gave me a whole bunch of stuff she had left over at  her house,  She is a coupon queen and had extra stuff. So she gave me cheerios, shampoo, huge bag of skittles and starburst, tooth past, shampoo, juice, popcorn! It was nuts! But way awesome!

Friday 10-21-11
I woke up with really bad nausiea... i dont know why. so i stayed in bed a little longer and it kind of faded off.

We did weekly planning at the church and we dropped a whole bunch of Eternagators (Eternal Investigators)  They are a waste of time.

Then we went to Del Taco and got Fiesta Packs for the whole district and had ANOTHER district lunch. It was way good.

Then we rode our bikes to big sky, because my companion wanted to go.  It was fun.  Such a good work out and the ride down is the best... you go probably 45 mph on the way down the hill.  I really wish i had a way to see how many miles i go a day... we seriously go SO many miles a day!

Then we stopped at the church to cool off and get drinks.

Then we went to a Less active ladies house and taught her a lesson.  It was pretty fun :)

Then Goudy and Searcy took us to their dinner appointment because ours cancelled, and they took us to their rich ward, we went to a huge house and they had TONS of food and it was soooo good, it was like thanksgiving!  The guy who lives there is a chili NUT so he gave me some Rice Chilis to send to dad... he said that no one else has them anywhere... he kind of smuggled them over i guess? haha but he's taken the seeds and grown his own! He loves them.

Saturday 10-22-11
We played sports early in the morning with the Zone.

Went and did some service with Elder Goudy and Searcy.  Just took down some fences.  Then they fed us in'n'out.

Then the spanish elders came and picked us up.  They took us to Barry's old house to do some service.  It was easy and a lot of fun.. Then he took us to costco and bought all of our stuff, the guy is stinkin awesome.  He took a picture of us with our cart... i think he sent it to dad.  He also got me a costco membership! haha!  Since i didnt have any california information he told them that i was his Step son! hahaha!

Then we went to a park and played ultimate frisbee with some members and they brought their Non member friends.  We were just granted permission to play sports as long as there is an opening and closing prayer! So cool! We are going to use this as a finding idea.  So we played frisbee with them all and had a way good time.  I think it will be really effective.

Then spanish came and picked us up and barry took us all to the Habit! Barry told us there about his conversion story.  He has such a strong testimony.  he says that he REALLY Wants to see his son get baptized, and i want to help him get there.

So then we went to barry's house and watched " on the lords errand"  We gave him our dinner calendar and he signed up for a whole bunch of days.  Even Thanksgiving! YES!

Sunday 10-23-11
I'll make this one quick...

We had church and Ann came! YES! then we had dinner with a family who the wife actually graduated as an Alta Hawk!  All her siblings are beetdiggers! Way crazy! They made this WAY good rack of ribs for dinner and they had their own little bbq sauce that reminded me so much of Jay dawg sauce! it was such a good dinner! And the husband drove a BMW 3551 and he liked to FLOOR IT! IT was such a nice car! I loved it! I want one :D

Then we went to barry's house and taught his son a lesson and his friend joined in as well.

After we left his sons friend came up to him and said "Barry can i talk to you? I talked with my dad and asked if i could take the missionary lessons and he said yes, i want to be a member of your church" he called me and told me and we think we can work towards getting them baptized soon! I was so happy!  We would just have to have their moms on board but that might be hard because both barry and Niko's (barry's sons friend) dad are divorced so who know what the moms will think?  But Barry was really greatful, and said that this is a huge blessing. and he was very greatful for us coming over to teach them! IT was a way good night!

Anyways thats it! i will talk to you guys next week! I'm all out of time!

LOVE

Work is getting better!

Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2011 12:35:07 -0700
Subject: Work is getting better!

Hello Family and friends! Its a new week! And i've completed 1/3rd of my mission! I hit my 8 month mark... Yesterday! Wow! Time is... kind of flying!

This is my week!

Monday 10-10-11
So we had P-day and it was so super... iguess.  I washed my sheets! that is actually way good because i havent washed those since.... (Dont judge me) i got to simi valley! hahaha only about 6 or more weeks dirty... Yeah i know its bad! But we have like no time to do our laundry!

We changed our apartment around.  Its going to help us with studying better. My comp keeps falling asleep so i put our desks right across from one another so he cant fall asleep.  Not that i wake him up if he does... But he thinks i will.  He's on the spot now ;) its good to have a little switch up every now and then.

We went to the church and played with the frisbee a lot! that was fun!

Then we went and bought groceries! I bought a ton so that it would last me... hopefully it will!

Then we went to the Sardoni's house for dinner. I like that family, they are pretty funny.

Then we ran to the Bickmores home and shared a quick thought with them! That was it!

Tuesday 10-11-11
We went to the church to organize our area books.  They were kind of sloppy... So i fixed them up and organized them!

Then we ate lunch! Mac n cheese with hot dog cut up into it... that's the life of a missionary!

Then we went tracting.  And the spanish elders came with us! It was way good! So we split up, one english elder with one spanish elder.  We put the greenies together so that they can practice... They need it.  We didnt find a whole bunch of people.  We found 1 girl who ran up to us and told us she thought we were inspiring, going out every day for 2 years to serve the lord! Her Name is Chelsea! and she took a book of mormon, pamphlets and our number! We also set up an appointment with her.

Then the spanish elders took off but we kept tracting.  We found 3 more potentials!  It was way good!  Some lady was like "We are going through some really rough times right now so this couldnt have come at a better time. So we set up 2 more appointments with people!

We had some pretty funny door approaches. My favorite was "hi sir! We are missionaries from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and...." "I'm very sorry for you" SLAM!!! hahaha that made me laugh so hard! You gotta love the rude things that happen to you out here otherwise you will crumble.  So whenever somebody yells at us, flips us off, cusses us out or slams the door in my face i just start laughing! It really is funny how people have a bad taste for us, yet they know nothing about us.

Then we ate dinner at our home/garage.  It was a frozen pizza from the dollar store! Yum! Because all our dinners keep cancelling :( Oh well.

Then we spoke with a less active lady and then gave her a blessing out on our front lawn.  She needed it.  Shes struggling.

Thats pretty much it! But as for the weather! Its been WAY HOT lately.

Wednesday 10-12-11
We woke up and went to the church and did mormon.org! It was sweet because there is a video of the highland rugby coach on there.  And where it is filmed is the field i used to play ultimate frisbee on in murray! i was like hey, thats where i played ultimate at! it was neat!

then we went out for lunch at a place called the Habit! It was way good! its a burger place and the burgers are delicious! We ate outside and an elder was like "hey elder Crapo, throw your fry on the ground" so i did and as soon as i did a gazillion birds came out of no where and battled for it.  Then elder searcy... being a little... slow, But he's so cool! I love him.  He takes a hand full of french fries and throws them down at the ground but he has the worste timing ever because he threw them at the feet of some lady, and the lady was just like... "thank you" hahaha! It was so funny!

Then we were going to go out and work but my bike tire was broken,  the whole stem broke off :(  so i had to go buy a new innertube! That stunk.  It wasted a bunch of time!

Then we went back to that girls house that we spoke to.  We taught her on her porch basically all the lessons combined with an added focus on the restoration.  we had to do them all combined because she kept asking WAY good questions that led to the next lesson! So we set up another appointment with her! She is awesome!

Then dinner cancelled... again, So i ate another frozen pizza from the dollar store! haha i feel super un healthy...

Then we watched the joseph smith video with a little girl who is investigating the church.  She can be baptized but her parents are kind of holding back.. They both served missions but somehow got offended in the church and dont want their kids in it quite yet.

Then we went to our appointment with Ann! She has a date for the 5 of november to be baptized.  We taught here the plan of salvation and she doesnt have too many questions.  She's just a really sincere girl who knows this is true and wants in! haha!

Thursday 10-13-11
We went to Zone Meeting.  Where the zone leaders just basically told us all the things we should be doing and shouldnt be doing... so that was fun.

Then i guess i really stressed my companion out with all this learning and teaching and memorizing stuff... he had a way bad head ache and wanted me to give him a blessing.  So i did.  But  theres really not a whole bunch i can do make it easier for him... The first few transfers you will be loaded with a bunch of stress trying to figure out how to get the lessons down, how to teach, how to act, all the rules, your area, all the names of people... its a ton of stress... but he doesnt want that.. but oh well... every missionary has to go through that.

the night before was not a good one.  It was way hot and the smoke detector kept chirping he say the batteries were dead... so i didnt get much sleep all night!

But then we had an appointment with Sister Starn.  But she wasnt home so then i texted her and she told me to call, so i called her and she never answered so i left a message and she never responded.... so she's getting kind of flakey.  I might leave her some space....

Then we went to the santa susana area to do some tracting. but no luck :*(

So we came in and Elder Goudy and Elder Searcy took us to their dinner appointment since we didnt have one again!  They took us over to a members home and the wife was from England, KENT even! She said she spent a ton of time in FAVERSHAM!!! Way crazy! She made a roast JUST like home. with the carrots and parsnips and beef and brussel sprouts (i ate 3 you should be proud) and the crispy golden potatoes! MMMMmmm just like home, except not as good because we usually home grow all that stuff. But it was way good! She said she'd invite us back over when she makes yorkshire puddings! :D

We spoke with the elders for a long while and then they left.  My companion looked like crap.  I guess that head ache really got to him...

But hey we have a TON of appointments set up!

Friday 10-14-11
We did planning and did a good companionship inventory.  Told my companion to work on some things that he really needs to work on.  Some things he does that bug me but hey!  I try to just ignore those things and just deal with it... but sometimes it just is too much doing everything and then dealing with a weirdo, so i just gave him some kind advice on things he can do to improve.

We then went to the FARTHEST North East part of our area! WAY FAR AWAY FROM HOME, we tracted for about.... 2.5 hours and found only one interested person, the street we tracted though was called roxbury, which i thought was funny! i got a picture! Then Came back to my bike and both tires were flat.... figures.  So i carried my bike about half way and then some members (they were british too... its crazy none of these british people are in our ward) they saw us and took us home.

Then we went and picked up food at a members house with the spanish elders because we didnt have dinner... again.

then we went to an appointment with our investigator David! he's the man! We invited him to be baptized after we taught the Plan of salvation.  he accepted! but he's going to pray for a date! YES!  He has a lot of good questions and he's finding that the gospel is true!

Then we came back home and i fixed both my tires and went to bed...

Saturday 10-15-11
This was a pretty simple day.  We went to help some other elder do service from 10-4! IT was crazy! We helped a guy build an office in his garage, just put up the sheet rock and insulation in his ceiling... But it took forever!  My comp is funny, anytime we begin hard work, he disappears... oh man... He's a skyver!

Then we ate dinner at a strange members home... with some strange food... but hey at least it wasnt a frozen pizza from the dollar store! :D

then we were trying to contact some people and no one was home! So then we came back and fixed the smoke detector!

Sunday 10-16-11
Was a normal day.  With a lot of bike riding to go out and share a message with members. And that was pretty much it!

Well that was my week! I'm sorry my emails are so long! But i hope you are all doing extremely well! i love and miss you all a ton!

LOVE,

First Week Of Training!

Date: Mon, 10 Oct 2011 12:16:56 -0700
Subject: First Week Of Training!

Hello Everybody! Heres my regular SUPER DUPER LONG email! haha

Tuesday 10-4-11
We went to Transfer meeting!  It was super long because there were 15 missionaries going home and 20 missionaries coming in!  So it took forever.  But it was way cool to see missionaries you had served with.  I love seeing the guys i had good times with... i didnt like seeing the guys i had bad times with because they come up to you as if your best friends! But hey if you forget those 6 weeks of misery and woe its pretty easy to be their friend! haha

I got my new companion.  His name is Elder Bullard! THIS KID IS HUGE! He was like obsessed with Jersey Shore when he left so he's kind of got a pride issue, but its ok, i'm workin on it haha!  He's got a way thick accent cuz he's from North Carolina.  I swear all the kid did back home was work out and eat... he's seriously massive.  Probably gonna go college football after the mission.  I feel like I'm Forrest Gump Sometimes talking to Bubba... Tellin me about all the Shrimp.  Except he talks about stories from back home.  This kid can talk your ear off.  But he's a good kid and we've been having a lot of success.

On our way back from Transfer meeting we stopped at a chinese restaurant and ate some food.  It was way good.

Then we went on splits with the Ward Missionaries.  And that was pretty good.  If no one is home we usually end up going to 31 Flavors... so we eat there a lot.

We also got our bikes and stuff... I got an old road bike... Its pretty stellar... i'm not taking it off of any jumps because i'd kill it.. My last bike i was flying all over the place on it! Jumping it off everything.  I loved it.  Now this new bike just gets me places faster!  Not as fun.  And the seat isreally hard... BUT IT WAS FREE!!! :D

Wednesday 10-5-11
It RAINED ALL DAY!!!!

But we had district meeting and then we ate lunch as a district.  It was a great... time.

Bullard is sucking wind on his bike.  I dont think he's ever ridden before because he had his gears set to 3 and 7 for the longest time... i was like... do you shift gears? and he was like no! I've gotta keep them high so i can keep up with you... hahahaha! Silly greenie.  I had to kind of teach him how to ride a bike but he's the kind of person that doesnt like being taught how to do something... but i wont mess with that because i dont want him to go hulk on me... hahah But everytime we get to an appointment he is huffin and puffin.  Not used to this kind of endurance.  Plus he refuses to sit on the seat because it "hurts" so i usually have like a 100 yard lead on him and then i have to stop and wait for him to catch up.. Its pretty hilarious.

Then we had a lesson with a referral! YES! FINALLY! His name is David and his girlfriend is Less Active but he came to her house and saw a picture of the temple and was like "what is that" and she said  "thats a temple and i wont marry a man unless he takes me there'' ah! so that got his attention! And now he's our new investigator! i'm so happy! he doesnt know much so you have to explain things simply!

Then we went to the Guidos for dessert. Their daughter Alicia loved me i guess? And her kids loved me! So she wanted me to say bye before she left for home in Provo! But she told me to go visit her and her kids and she'd feed me haha! YES!

So being a trainer they have a new 12 week program that consists of an extra hour of assigned companion study... its not very fun but its really effective... so we do a lot of studying...

Oh side note! If you put mine and elder Bullards name together! You get Bullcrap!  Thats so funny.  With elder Jenkins if you put our first names together you got Samuel Adams!! Way funny!

Thursday 10-6-11
We contacted another referral! Her boyfriend is a member in bakersfield and so we went to go see her. She's very religious and we taught a lesson and then comitted her to be baptized!!! YES!!! She's got a date for November 5th!

Then we went to the Santa Susana ward and taught a less active lady!

We went tracted and handed out a book of mormon.  I also got a flat tire so we had to come back and fix it!

The andersons came and took us out to dinner at some burger place! It was way good! And we saw a double rainbow.  As we were driving down the street every single person was like standing there looking at the sky as if their were aliens coming to get us.  Seriously like a scene from independance day! it was crazy, they all pulled out there phones and started taking pictures.

Then we went on splits again... and guess where we went? 31 Flavors of course! haha

Friday 10-7-11
I got a package from mom! YES!  I liked it a lot!

Then we went to the church and did weekly planning. My poor little greenie was so worn out from riding bikes that he kept falling asleep while we were planning... poor little lamb haha. So he's pretty oblivious as to who everyone is and what we are doing because he falls asleep all the time!

We went to lunch with the district because some elders got a $50 gift card for any where and we went and got a whole bunch of dominos pizzas and it was glorious.

Then we had a lesson with Ann (the girl with the baptismal date) her boyfriend (Who is a member) joined us! and it was great!

Then we ate dinner with the same elders because nobody signed up for dinner.  They had some extra money left over on their card so they took us out again.

I made some packets that are going to bump up the Referrals in the Santa Susana Ward!

And we also got Anti'd HARD CORE! Some guy stopped us and just told us how we were wrong in every way for like, 15 minutes.

Saturday 10-8-11
We did service in the morning... just helped a family pack up their house because they are moving.  My comp, being the greenie he is had his t shirt sleeves rolled up saying "i'm working on a tan elder" i was like " Dont worry about it, nobody but you is going to see your tan for two years"  haha! But he kept em up... like i said... pride. But its ok! i can handle that!

Then we went home and did studies... you have to do the studies...

Then we went to go hand out packets but nobody was home because they were at the adult session of conference! Blast! should have known!

Then we went to Barry's house and he took us to dinner at a nice little mexican restaurant.  Then went to his house where he took pictures of us and sent them to our parents. haha it was pretty funny. Then we watched Prophet of the Restoration with him and his son (who is not a member) and they liked it a lot.

We also spoke to a guy who was working outside in his yard.  We offered to help and he almost took us up on it but decided no.  We spoke to him for like... 20 minutes until his wife came out and shooed us off! Blast! But i placed a book of mormon!

Sunday 10-9-11
We had stake conference! And our investigator showed up! YES! We sat front row with her and her boyfriend.  The only missionaries in the zone to have investigators! And what better sunday to have one because our mission president was speaking and saw we had one there! YES!

Then we left and did our studies.  and ate lunch.

Then we went to see  brother penrod and spent some time there talking with him.  Comp was like "Elder when are we going to do work?" i was like "WHAT!?!?! We are doing work!" but of course in greenie language WORK=Tracting... So we went tracting for like 2 hours! hahaha!  All the doors he tried got slammed in his face.. He needs to work on his tecnique, he's trying to force feed to gospel to them instead of invite them... i've done examples for him, but he never changes his style.  He'll have to soon if he wants some success to come from the most ineffective way of finding...  But then we had dinner! and it was good. I have a picture from dinner of me holding a bearded dragon! i'll send it!

Then we went to Sister Starns (less active) and set up an appointment with her! So we've got lots of appointments that i set up and any spare time i ask my comp what he wants to do.  Usually tract, so we tract!

And that is it! That's my week! I hope you enjoy it! I sure... did! I love you all! I miss you all! Cant believe its almost been 8 weeks...! Yikes! Watch out year mark! here i come! haha

Love,

Elder Crapo

I'm Training!‏

Date: Mon, 3 Oct 2011 12:18:24 -0700
Subject: I'm Training!

Hello Family and Friends!

So today is P-day.  And we got transfer calls.  6:30 AM The Assistants call, looking for me.  They say hey! You're training! I cant tell you who, or where, but we just wanted to call and let you know that by tomorrow you will be training a brand new missionary... So yeah! That's my big news really. Then the Zone leaders called and told me that i would be staying in Simi Valley.  And i would be training... I dont know who it is? but i'm excited to find out!  I'm gonna have my first son!

So this is how my week went!

Monday 9-26-11
I slept in on accident way too long.  the only reason being though because my comp likes to get up and turn off all the alarms before they even go off... huh... then he jumps in the shower and starts doing his laundry.  I woke up all angry because i did NOT plan on staying in bed.  And he puts his laundry in the machine at like "SUPER DELICATES" or "90 MINUTE TIMED DRY" Seriously, like whatever setting you can put the washing machine on and dryer on to make it last the longest time possible, thats what he does.  So i barely finished my laundry that day.  I was still doing it at like... 9 PM.

Then Elder Goudy and Elder Daniel Picked us up and took us shopping. And then they took us to the church to do emails!

I didnt buy anything because i didnt really have any money to buy anything.  Haha i'm scrimpin!

Then we went on a hike!  That was way fun.  I wasnt excited about it because i wanted to play sports really bad because we hadnt played sports in forever!  But we went on this hike and it was way fun! Me and Elder Daniel broke trail and just started scaling mountains haha it was pretty sick.  We got to the tip of a mountain and everyone was left in the dust.  But then elder Daniel had to go #2 really bad! WAY BAD.  So he found a hole in the mountain and took care of some business... lets say i got some way funny pictures of it... but i'll save that for after the mission to show you guys ;) hahaha! It was hilarious. Because i climbed down the mountain and looked up and he was like... wiping... hahahaha throwing leaves off the side of the mountain! hahaha! I got a video of that! It was hilarious!

Then we went to dinner, but on our way to dinner my comp found out he had a flat. So we walked.

We ate dinner at the Hambly's and they are way cool and they make way good BBQ.

Then we went back to the apartment and i fixed my comps tire because he didnt know how...  Good thing i  did all that bike work right before i left! I'm glad mum and dad always taught us how to do that kind of stuff so when it came to repairs i  could just do it myself.

Tuesday 9-27-11
We got picked up and went to district meeting.

Then we wentto Carls Jr. and ate lunch with brother Penrod.

Then i got a letter from scott.  It was way good! He said everything they do there reminds him of me because i like all the stuff they do.  So that got me excited, i'm pretty darn sure thats what i will do when i get home.

We then ran some last minute errands with Elder Daniel and Goudy.  We almost died in the car ride home because Daniel just about missed our street to turn on and even though it was way too late to turn, he slammed on the breaks and turned anyways... oh man... i just covered my face and prayed for Jesus to take the wheel!  Seriously the tires were screetchin and smokin!

Then we spoke about buying ghost busters shirts at target...  Let me explain ghost busters real quick.  So everywhere you go in california, girls wear REALLY short shorts.... like every single girl. and you cant help but look because they are everywhere... and when you do look the spirit goes away... the holy "ghost" goes away haha so they bust the ghost... So code word for short shorts is... Ghost Busters.  And now all the elders in the district want ghost buster t shirts to wear on p day! hahaha! We are gonna do it for sure!

We had a potential that we tracted into fall through :( We finally had a spot of luck and she said she couldnt do it... she gave back the book of mormon... She was WAY nice though.  I tried everything i could to keep the door open... but she just gave us a bunch of pump fakes (Fake excuses) and said that she couldnt handle it.  Plus i think she was getting antied by her son who opened the door and tried to shoo us away...  He had a watchtower in his hand so that made a lot of sense.  But she's the nicest old lady in the world, i thought she was going to be the one! But nope :(

I told sister starn that we were going to be making Blintzes at the Guidos.  She was excited and said she would come.

We ate dinner at the mercers home and then we went on splits with brother Walter.

Wednesday 9-28-11
We went to the Guidos and made them all blintzes. I guess the family is really picky on what they eat but EVERYBODY liked them. Sister starn didnt show up though... that was pretty much the purpose of doing blintzes at the guidos...  I ended up cleaning their kitchen though haha.. they had dishes sky high and i didnt want to leave it in a mess so i lent a hand.

Then we went contacting, and like usual nobody was really home...  So we went to Bonnie Shorts house (LA) she is really cool, she reminds me of grandma :)  She had this little doll house dresser on her coffee table and i was looking at it and i was like "The drawers dont even open" and she said "Its a piggy bank, see the slot? Put some money in" so i pu a quarter in and the thing exploded all over the place! It scared me so bad! Their was a moustrap inside and when you put the quarter in it sets it off and explodes haha it was a way good little trick! She was laughing so hard! I fell for it way bad.

We did a lot of biking... I wish i knew how much i biked a day... probably a gazillion miles a day!

Then we went to the church and the youth were having a little missionary activity... all the kids got their calls and companions and were at the "MTC" and we taught the class about preach my gospel.  It was a lot of fun :D The youth are goof balls... that was me once... weird....

Then we went home.  It was a way hot day.

I also got a letter from mum.  I got my old memory cards back!

Thursday 9-29-11
The night before went by WAY too fast, i really dont think i slept at all... because i felt like i was awake and aware of being awake all night... so it flew by and i was pretty sleepy all day.

I wasnt feeling well in the morning either... I felt kind of nausiaus... but that faded.

Then we spent most of the morning trying to fix elder Jenkins bank account... i guess he got charged for something he wasnt supposed to be charged for... so that took a lot of travelling and time wasting to get that fixed.

Then we went to Panera Bread for lunch.... Its like, if noodles and company had a sandwich shop... this would be it.  It was pretty good.  I spoke to some psyco lady there about the church... she didnt know we were allowed to marry people that werent our same race and she didnt know blacks were accepted in our church haha it was a pretty fun discussion.

then we came home and i got moms letter.  With two new memory cards and scotts picture! He looks great!

Then Elder Curtis (Guy who works in the office who takes care of all the missionaries living quarters) came by and checked our appartment out because its had a whole bunch of complaints in the past, and he'd never seen it before so he came to check it out.   He also had a package for me from Christine! YES! It was great!

Then brother Metcalf picked us up and took us to dinner at his house, then we went on splits with brother Portillo and had a way good lesson with a less active.  It was way crazy when i saw brother Portillo one of the first things he said to me was "i like to ride my scooter" Just the way i did it in my video... i was like "OH NO!" haha that guy that i told about my youtube page has been showing everyone my videos hahaha its so funny that was the last thing i was expecting him to say to me! haha!

It was also a very hot day.

Friday 9-30-11
We didnt really do anything at weekly planning... Cuz we had nothing to plan for... We just thought up finding ideas on how to get new investigators.

Had a way fancy/delicious dinner at the other elders apartment who were basically just making fun of the Zone Leaders.  So they made a roast and parted their hair and wore suits and stuff they just looked so funny.  And the roast was all fancy with violins and stuff in the background it was hilarious.  It was actually WAY good too.  I enjoyed it!

Then we burnt a tie for Elder Daniel's 6 month mark.

Then we went to our appointment with Jean and watched "Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration" he really enjoyed it and learned a lot of new things.

My comp.... sadly pooped his pants hahaha he was having some stomach issues and was on the pot ALL DAY.

Then we went to a baptism.  And it was so funny because elder Daniel And Goudy went to target and got on a Photo kiosk and printed up a picture of Elder Udy (ZL) and Sister Lord and made a wedding announcement! HAHAHA! It was so funny!

Saturday 10-1-11
Went to the church and watched General Conference. It was way good. I was so shocked when they announced that the tabernacle that burnt down in provo was going to be a new temple! WOW!

Went to lunch at Taco bell.

And then watched more Conference.

Then went to Costcos with Barry.  He was extra crazy! Doing Tokyo Drift with his shopping cart past all these people at costcos hahaha he's crazy! Me and Barry were getting angry with my companion because he was taking forever looking at something, and then he wouldnt get it.  haha.  Then we  went to target and Barry bought me a tub of protein and the Rubix cube i was going to buy, and elder jenkins was like "Man why dont you buy me anything?" haha Barry was buying me that stuff on purpose because he knew it would make my comp angry!  My comp was so angry!  And then Barry asked me where i wanted to eat dinner tonight and my comp was like "why are you asking him?" hahahaha oh man i was laughing so hard!  Barry was trying to push him to the edge it was hilarious.

So then Barry took us to Priesthood Session and then took us to a really fancy BBQ.  I ate way too much!

Sunday 10-2-11
Watched all of General Conference and then ate dinner at the Bishops house... Pretty simple day.

Well that is pretty much it for my letter this week! I hope you enjoyed it!  I look forward to getting a greenie tomorrow! I miss and love you all! Write me! :D

Love,

Subject: Weeks are flying

Hello everyone.  Let me try and hurry and type this monster before my time is up.

Monday 9-19-11
P-day was pretty boring.  We were told we were going to play sports and i was pumped because we hadnt played sports in forever but instead we went to a museum... fun...

We did all our regular p day stuff and went to dinner at the Woo's home.  It was pretty good.

Then we went to the Dungans and had an FHE with them.

Tuesday 9-20-11
The ZL's showed up in the morning at our apartment... i dont know why? Maybe to talk with my companion?

They dropped us off at the church for district meeting.

Then we ate lunch with Brother Penrod and his son.

I got 3 letters.  Two were letters that i sent that didnt make it to the right address and got sent back and one was from mom.  And mom's letter was great! So thank you very much.

Then we went to dinner with the Okeefe's.  Their house was  a little cramped with tons of collectable things and we ate Tri-tip.  Again.

Then we went and taught a less active lady.

and then i invented a work out program.  Because i got tired of doing nothing... so i made up an exersize chart and will be ripped soon. haha

Wednesday 9-21-11
Did lots of service at a less active ladies house.  Like took EVERYTHING out of her garage, sorted it and put it all back in... we were there for a LONG time.  but she got us lunch.

Then we came back and showered and went to the Browns for dinner and they took us out for shakes after...

Thursday 9-22-11
I learned a valuble lesson about not getting milk at the 99 cent store... Its nasty... so we went and got me a gallon of normal milk.

Did some service with the spanish elders and ate lunch at the place we did service

Ate dinner with the Andersons and got haircuts and he works at 20th century searchlight and said he'd check out my youtube page to see if i had any talent.  Maybe he will get me a job?  but by the sounds of it he doesnt do what i want to do.  He just works for them, he doesnt do any editing or filming.  But at least he has the hook ups.  I've spoken to a lot of people about the movie biz and i guess its alllllll about who you know, not what you know when it comes to the movie biz, so hopefully i can get some good hook ups here.

then we met at the church with the ward missionaries and went on splits.

Friday 9-23-11
Zone leaders dropped off my package.  It was great.  CDs, Snacks, Hair trimmers, Shirt, Ensign.  IT was a pretty good package, it made my day.

Then we went to the church and did our weekly planning.

Then we went to in'n'out with brother penrod and his son.

then we went to dinner and had TONS of sushi with the dungans.  No joke they must have spent over $100!!! There was so much.  Best dinner on the mission yet.  They gave me a picture... i'll try and send it next time because i forgot to bring my cords this week.

We came back and there was a lightening storm in the distance but it never made it to us :( I wanted it to!

Saturday 9-24-11
Went to contact people in the morning. my comp didnt want to ride bikes because he jammed his finger on monday and he's babying it so we walked... for a good 3-4 hours and didnt see a soul... lol.

ran into a member that had spoken to my mother on the phone a couple days earlier.  She's trying to get her troubled son into youth care in draper and she asked if i knew anything about it! well ya! my mom is the receptionist i bet you spoke with her.  Well my mum sent me an email today saying that that lady called back and spoke with her! Crazy!

Stopped at a place called Rocket Fizz trying to find Guarana but they didnt have any...  But they did have Crunchies and Aeros! So i got one of each and shared with my companion.

Went and visited Penrod.  He couldnt have lunch because he was waiting for the cable company to show up.

So we went home and ate lunch.

Spanish elders came and picked us up and we went to dinner with Barry Thomas!  We went to Palermos, which is now my most favorite pizza on the planet.  Its so good!

The spanish elders had to leave but barry took us and his investigating son to the simi valley fair.  It was awkward being around all those people, but really good because we spoke with TONS of people wondering who we were and stuff.  And Barry kept pointing at girls and asking me if i thought they were attractive and i kept saying no because they werent... really pretty at all.... they just dressed imodest...  So he was like well you point out when you see a cute girl.  haha so i was like ok, and then i saw a cute girl, and later on that night she walked up to us, and she was a member.  Funny... out of all those people i chose the member... Its my member radar ;)   So needless to say there were a lot of "Ghostbusters" there.... (some of you may get that, others may not. If you're super curious ask my mum and dad, They know what it means)

Sunday... was sunday.

So thats my week.  I hope you are all doing well.  I will be back on here next week i guess! So See ya!

Love,

Elder Crapo
